Candlelight Inn

Towns are often known by their taverns, and few can boast such a name as the Candlelight Inn of Eveningstar. Thomas Tallow owns her now, but the Candlelight was around long before him. The inn has passed through one generation of ‘retired’ adventurers to the next, and long been a meeting place for their ilk. Wanders great and small are often to be found by the hearth of the Candlelight; but the locals come, too, to hear and see the enchanting music of Lady Nightengale. She sings there almost at least once a week, and often more. But all the musicians at the Candlelight must prove their worth and come with letters of merit from other innkeeps. For it is no ordinary stage upon which they play and sing, but a hallowed shrine to Olidammara, the Laughing God, himself; and any who would grace it must be worthy.

Thomas Tallow is quiet but welcoming, especially to those in need. Rumor has it he has a whole dragon’s hoard worth of gold from his adventuring days, so he is generous with his room and board and other kinds of help. Should up-and-coming heroes impress Thomas, it is hardly unheard of for him to offer free lodging to them for as long as they want. And one could hardly find a better source of gossip, and news of adventuring in need of doing, than Thomas and the other strange folk who pass through his inn. Few in-the-know come to the Candlelight if they aren’t looking for some action and reward.
